DINALEDI PROJECT

OUR DINALEDI PROJECT
Creating stars together: children, teachers and trainers, parents, community members and the environment!
Through the Dinaledi project, our aim is to create stars: children, teachers and trainers, parents, community members and the environment, all joining forces to promote joy, autonomy, self-sufficiency, and sustainability in Maun and its vicinity!
Re Jala Peo is dedicated to this mission, working hand in hand with local collaborators such as government schools and the Ministry of Basic Education to create a brighter future for children in Ngamiland, the most underprivileged region of Botswana. At the heart of all our initiatives lies a shared commitment to mutual support, community empowerment, and environmental care!
The Junior Ranger and Aflatoun initiatives have been divided into distinct projects, including weekly school sessions, tree planting activities, the publication of our Kids in the Delta Magazine, workshops for both communities and parents, celebrating Maun Savings Week, maintenance of school gardens, setting up a new school garden, training in child centered learning techniques and the organization of “Kids to the Bush Camps”.
The organization uses the following curriculums at schools mostly during after school activities in Junior Ranger / Aflatoun Clubs:
- Junior Ranger Botswana: nature conservation
- Aflatoun Non-Formal Education for primary schools: social, financial and entrepreneurial skills
- Aflateen for junior secondary schools: social, financial and entrepreneurial skills
- Happy Green Botswana: waste management
