Today we celebrated something truly special: the graduation of the first seven children from the Tsutsubega Playgroup!
It was a joyful event filled with speeches from local officials, lively dances by the children, and even performances by the mothers. We ended the morning sharing a delicious traditional Setswana meal, lovingly prepared by the women of the village.
This beautiful celebration was made possible thanks to the wonderful efforts of teachers Gladys and Onkgolotse, their assistants Katlego and Ipuseng, and the newly formed PTA (Parent-Teacher Association). A generous donation, topped up by the PTA themselves, made it all happen.
But what touched me the most were the wonderful faces of the children, especially the two boys with intellectual disabilities who were having the time of their lives. When we first met them, they were hidden away on a cattle post and now they are proud members of the playgroup and of the community.
A heartfelt thank you to Dutch Down Support for making this possible. We hope that in the next school year, we can welcome more children like Kago and Katlo, helping them to step out of isolation and into inclusion, joy, and learning.
And special thanks to other donors like Okavango Gin, Xigera and my friends and family.
Together, we are making a difference. 💕
